Prodigal Theatre UPG

  Welcome to the Nightingale Theatre

The Nightingale is dedicated to supporting the creation of new theatre and dance and to the ongoing development of artists. The policy is underpinned by a ladder of development which has been evolved over the last 4 years through our experience of supporting artists from all levels of the profession.

As a fringe venue we are committed to independent work formed outside the mainstream in which the nature of each project defines the process by which it is made, and where we as a venue will adapt our model of development to offer the maximum level of support to each artist we work with.

Through the generosity of Zelgrain Ltd the Nightingale was re-opened after years of closure on the 4th of February 2004 by resident company and mangers Prodigal Theatre. Situated above the Grand Central Bar beside Brighton Station the Nightingale continues innovating new paths of development under the patronage of our friend and mentor Steven Berkoff.

To join our e-mailing list or learn more about the venue please contact us at [email protected]  We look forward to welcoming you in person.
